Hundreds marched through Barcelona on Saturday, December 16, during a protest in solidarity with Palestinians.

Many held Palestinian flags and participated in chants calling for Palestine to be "freed". Spain, Ireland, Belgium, and Malta want EU leaders to debate the situation in Gaza and have jointly called for a lasting humanitarian ceasefire that would end the conflict.

The Israeli regime started a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, which has so far claimed the lives of about 19,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Also, the vast majority of the population of 2.3 million has fled their homes, many sleeping rough, leaving them vulnerable to illness.
