The world number 1, Novak Djokovic has begun his bid for a 6th ATP Finals title, after defeating Casper Ruud of Norway 2 sets to love in the Green Group.
The Serbian ace, who arrived in Turin in form, by clinching his record-breaking 37th ATP Masters 1000 crown in Paris, faced some resilience by the Norwegian rising star, but, Djokovic used his experience to take the opening set in the tie break. The 20-time grand slam winner dominated the 2nd set and took it 6-2, to wrap up the match after 93 minutes. Meanwhile, after the match, The Serbinator received the trophy for finishing 2021 as the world number one. He will next meet Stefanos Tsitsipas on Wednesday.
