Officials from the Ministry of Interior say at least 16 people were wounded in the explosion and two of them were police force members.
At least three people were killed in an IED blast close to a mosque in Cinema Pamir area in Kabuls PD1 on Thursday evening, the Ministry of Interior officials confirmed.
Two policemen and a civilian were among those killed in the explosion, the Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said, adding that 16 people including two police were wounded in the blast.
He said the IED had been attached to a police vehicle which was outside a mosque in the area.
Many worshippers were reportedly inside and outside the mosque when the blast happened, eyewitnesses say.
