The provincial governor of northern Balkh province and chief executive of Jamiat-e-Islami party Ata Mohammad Noor has claimed that certain circles in the government are attempting to spark ethnic tensions among the people.
In a statement released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Noor said the misbehaviors and wrong approaches by the circles have resulted into growing gap among the Afghan people belonging to different tribes and ethnicities.
Insisting that the Afghan people need a unity more than any other time, Noor warned that such approaches will have a grim end and a long term negative impact on the people if the circles within the government did not refrain from their wrongful acts.
Noor further added that the government leaders are obliged to pay attention to the concerns, demands, and recommendations of the people in a bid to create an atmosphere of unity among the people.
He said the Jamiat-e-Islami party has concerns regarding the moves, remarks, and stances being put on display on orders of the governmental circles.
The Balkh governor also added that Jamiat-e-Islami together with new political coalition members strictly monitor the situation and will not allow those circles to achieve their goals and play with the fate of the ordinary people.
Noor did not disclose the circles which he believe are involved in hatching conspiracies but in the past he and his party have harshly criticized the senior security officials in the government for their failure in ensuring security and attempting to spark tensions among the people.
