An explosion has taken place in Kabul city with preliminary reports indicating the incident has taken place close to Massoud Square.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish confirmed a suicide attack has taken place close to a private bank and more information will be released later.

Danish further added that the death of at least four people have been reported so far with three others who have sustained injuries.

In the meantime, the public health officials are saying preliminary reports indicate at least one person was killed and eight others were wounded in the attack.

Security sources confirm the blast has taken place close to the branch of a bank and it is believed that the explosion was triggered by a suicide bomb blast.

The sources are saying that the exact number of people sustained casualties is not clear so far.

No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
