The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
It was the second attack of the Taliban in a day in Kabul after armed insurgents killed the chief secretary of Supreme Court, Atiqullah Raoufi, early Saturday morning in Police District 5.
These attacks came two days after a suicide bomber blew himself up inside the French Cultural Center at Istiqlal High School of Kabul, only a few meters away from the Presidential Palace, in which one foreign civilian was killed and nearly 20 others were injured.
