Following Saturday evenings attack in Kabuls Dasht-e-Barchi area, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) called for enhanced protection of the countrys Hazara community. The blast, targeting a minibus, resulted in at least 25 casualties, according to UNAMA.
"At least 25 members of Kabuls Hazara community were killed or wounded in last nights explosion," UNAMA stated Sunday.
The mission emphasized the need for "an end to targeted attacks on civilians, greater protection for Afghanistans Hazara community, and accountability for those responsible."
The attack, which has been widely condemned by Afghans including former politicians, was labeled inhuman and a terrorist act.
Daesh has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The Taliban reported that the blast killed at least two people and wounded 14 others.
