Russia says fresh US aid to Kiev will be fiasco

Russia has said any further military aid by the United States to Ukraine will be a "fiasco."

Ahead of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskys meeting with US leaders, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would "very closely" follow Kiev-related developments in Washington.

"It is important for everyone to understand that the tens of billions of dollars pumped into Ukraine did not help it gain any success on the battlefield," Peskov told a regular news briefing, adding that, "The tens of billions of dollars that Ukraine wants to be pumped with are also headed for the same fiasco."

Zelensky, who has already received more than $100 billion worth of American military aid for Kiev forces and headed gains to the US capital to plead for more, is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden in Washington on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian leader will also meet with congressional leaders from both parties, Democratic and Republican.

Political analysts say Zelensky will face his real challenger when he addresses US senators in Congress, and meets the new Republican speaker of the House, Mike Johnson.

On Monday, speaking to the audience at the National Defense University in Washington, DC the actor-turned-politician insisted, "[Russian President Vladimir] Putin must lose."

He said that the US-led Western countries must not delay the continued delivery of arms and munitions to Kiev forces.

"When the free world hesitates, thats when dictatorships celebrate and their most dangerous ambitions ripen," he said. "They see their dreams come true when they see delays."

He asked the American leaders not to "betray" Ukrainian forces fighting against the much better and stronger Russian troops by cutting the military aid.

Since Russia launched its special military operation in Donbas in February 2022, the US has led a Western coalition sending tens of billions of dollars in weaponry and munitions to Kiev.

However, Republicans are ever-more openly rejecting allocating more funding for the continuous arms and munitions shipments to Ukraine, seeing the support for Ukraine as their loss and a distraction from their domestic problems.

Republican lawmakers have pointed to Kievs failure in winning the proxy war against Russia, insisting that funding the abortive Ukraine war is a waste of US taxpayers money.

The lawmakers want Biden to redirect US taxpayers money toward domestic issues, particularly to stopping illegal migration over the US-Mexican border.

In the meantime, Russia announced on Tuesday that Russian troops had "advanced significantly" in southern Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu pointed out that Kiev forces continued to push for victory on the battlefield against the superior Russian troops was plunging the nation into its abysmal self-annihilation.

Russia has on numerous occasions warned that the continued supply of Western weapons and munitions to the Ukrainian military would only prolong the war, add to losses, and exacerbate the sufferings of the Ukrainian nation. "The United States and its allies continue to arm the Ukrainian armed forces, while the Kiev regime continues to throw untrained soldiers into senseless assaults and slaughter," the defense minister said, adding that these "cynical actions by the West and their henchmen in Kiev are only pushing Ukraine towards self-destruction."

Russian President Vladimir Putin also stated on repeated occasions that the military campaign in Donbas was necessary to "defend people" against Western aggression and its expansionist policy.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has made similar remarks, saying that Kiev is fully aware of Russias demands and could simply fulfill them to bring the war to an end.

"Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the territories controlled by the [Kiev] regime, [and] the elimination of threats to Russias security emanating from there, including our new lands, are well-known to the enemy," Lavrov said.

"The point is simple: Fulfill them for your good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."
