Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery units have launched a series of strikes against several areas in southern Lebanon, after Hezbollah fighters targeted an Israeli tank with a guided missile on the border between the Arab country and the 1948 Israeli-occupied territories.
According to Lebanons Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news network, Israeli drones launched missiles at the outskirts of Kfarchouba village, the heights of Halta village as well as the Bistara Farm near the occupied Shebaa Farm on Wednesday.
This came after Hezbollah targeted the Branit barracks and another Israeli post facing Naqoura town in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese resistance fighters also successfully targeted an Israeli battle tank in the area of Avivim, killing and wounding a number of soldiers onboard the armored fighting vehicle.
On Tuesday, an Israeli helicopter attack struck an empty position near the border town of Houla, after a missile fired from Lebanon hit an Israeli military position.
The Israeli military said another missile attack hit a position in Manara, with no casualties.
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah addressed the Lebanese media outlets on Wednesday with a letter, asking them to call all recently fallen fighters of the group as "the martyrs on the path to al-Quds."
Eleven Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the past 24 hours, as Israel and Hezbollah exchanged fire along the border.
Hezbollah has warned that it will join the Palestinian resistance group Hamas and its allies in the fight against Israel if the regime escalates its aggression on Gaza and in case foreign military forces intervene to help the Israeli regime in the battle.
Hezbollahs Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated on Tuesday that the Lebanese movement is at the core of the regional resistance campaign to defend the Gaza Strip against the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Sheikh Qassem said in a post published on social media that Hezbollah has its "finger on the trigger" to whatever extent it deems necessary to defend Gaza and to face off the occupiers of Palestine.
He said the United States and Europe should be held accountable for the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime of Israel against children and women in Gaza.
