Pakistan's National Security Advisor, Sartaj Aziz, is expected to visit Kabul as the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's special envoy on Sunday with an official invitation letter to President Ashraf Ghani, according to Pakistan's Foreign Office statement.
Aziz is the first Pakistani official to visit Afghanistan after the formation of the new Afghan government. He will meet President Ghani and other Afghan officials in Kabul.
He is said to meet with President Ghani and other Afghan officials in the capital of the country—Kabul.
The statement added that Aziz will also be meeting with Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
His visit to Afghanistan is a part of Pakistan's efforts to build a new phase in the Afghanistan-Pakistan bilateral relationship.
