Deputy minister of information and culture and spokesman of the Taliban Zabiullah Mujahid has again undermined Daesh/ISIS-K (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan branch) and added that the terrorists have no place in Afghanistan.
In an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Zabiullah Mujahid said that 670 affiliates of ISIS-K have been arrested and 25 hideouts of the fighters were destroyed in the past three months.
Mujahid added that the safe havens were destroyed in the Afghan capital Kabul and eastern Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province.
The spokesman added that ISIS-K is not a big threat in Afghanistan and that this was a small group that has been dismantled in Kabul and Jalalabad.
"The vacuum in Afghanistan created an opportunity for the group to carry attacks immediately after August 15. There was no communication system and security system fixed by the Taliban initially." Said Mujahid.
He accused former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani of strengthening Daesh in the north of Afghanistan in order to use them against the Taliban.
The statements come as there has been decreased in attacks by the ISIS-K in Afghanistan.
The group has carried out four major attacks in Kabul and provinces along with small-scale explosions since the Taliban takeover that killed and wounded hundreds of humans.
