Chinas grain output reached a record high of nearly 683 million tons in 2021, surpassing 650 million tons for the seventh year in a row, official data revealed on Monday.
The countrys grain output increased by 2 percent year on year and reached 682.8 million tons this year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
The seeded area increased by 0.7 percent to around 118 million hectares in 2021, an expansion for two consecutive years.
The yield per unit area increased by 1.2 percent or 4.8 kg year on year in 2021.
