Irans Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says there is consensus among the remaining parties to the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and world countries about the United States culpability in the current situation that surrounds the deal.
"All the parties have come to the common understanding that the US is the main culprit and [the country that is] responsible for the current situation," the top diplomat said during a telephone call with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio on Monday.
The US left the deal that is officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in 2018 and then returned the sanctions that the deal had lifted.
Apart from breaching the JCPOA, the USs departure and its re-introduction of the inhumane economic measures are in violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 that endorses the nuclear agreement.
"And some [other] parties contributed to creation of the unacceptable current situation through their irresponsible behavior and silence in the face of the USs excessive demands," Amir-Abdollahian added.
He was referring to refusal by the UK, France, and Germany--the USs allies in the deal--to defy the sanctions after Washington initiated its violations.
Iran ready for a good agreement
Vienna has hosted six round of talks aimed at examining the prospect of the sanctions fresh removal.
The talks were put on hold in the run-up to Irans presidential elections in June so the Islamic Republic could go through a period of government transition.
The negotiations are to start anew in the Austrian capital on November 29.
"The new Iranian government is practical and result-oriented. We have shared our views with the parties to the negotiations and are prepared for arriving at a good agreement," the Iranian foreign minister said.
"This [however] requires that all the negotiating parties return to their obligations," he added.
The Italian official, for his part, expressed delight over the "positive trend" of the efforts that concern the negotiations.
He voiced determination on the part of Rome to expand its relations with Tehran and expressed hope that the negotiations bear fruit so the countries can further expand their trade ties.
