Former US President Donald Trump, who has recently returned to the rally stage, will not be able to hold his next one in the state of Alabama.
The cancellation comes at a time when more Republicans are turning against Trump by calling out his version of the 2020 race outcome.
The Republican leader was scheduled to hold a rally in Mobile, Alabama, on July 4th, but USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park denied a permit on Tuesday.
"After the request was made, then there was contact with the Republican Party, they contacted us and then it became apparent that it was going to be a partisan political event, rather than just a patriotic event planned for that evening," commission chairman Bill Tunnell told WMTV, an NBC News affiliate.
The former president could have enjoyed the attention on the Independence Day, a federal holiday commemorating the declaration of independence of the United States on July 4th.
Meanwhile, Republican Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall said the park is "available for all political parties and candidates on an equal basis."
The real estate tycoon and TV personality has returned to the political scene in the wake of his loss to now-President Joe Biden, whose victory he has not acknowledged.
Trump held his first big campaign-style rally since leaving the White House in Wellington, Ohio, last week.
Today, at least one third of Americans believe that Bidens victory was due to voter fraud, an idea promoted by the former president in his rallies.
