Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Ankara is ready to talk and cooperate with every country, a day after he said he "would have liked" better ties with Israel.
"Turkey is ready to talk, agree and work together with every country on the condition of respect for its sovereignty, rights, laws and potential," Erdogan said on Saturday, according to Turkeys official Anadolu news agency.
He said Turkey does not have any problem that cannot be resolved with either the US, Europe, Russia, China or other regional countries.
"As promised, I hope 2021 will be a year of democratic and economic reforms," the Turkish president remarked.
On Friday, Erdogan said if there were no issues at the top level in Israel, the Turkish-Israeli ties could have been very different.
"We would have liked to bring our ties to a better point," he stressed.
Al-Monitor reported earlier this month that Turkey had selected a new ambassador to send to Israel after two years, in order to improve Ankaras relationship with Washington.
Turkey initially severed ties with Israel in 2010 after 10 pro-Palestinian Turkish activists were killed by the Israeli regimes commandos in a raid on a Gaza-bound Turkish aid flotilla.
Israel and Turkey reached an agreement to normalize their relations in June 2016, but the Israeli-Turkish ties remained frosty afterward.
In May 2018, Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel and expelled the Israeli regimes ambassador over the killing of dozens of Palestinian protesters by Israeli forces and the inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem al-Quds in May 2018.
