A group of gunmen--reportedly three in total--entered the Kabul University on Monday morning, sources said.
Sources said the gunfight near the Kabul University happened when Afghan and Iranian officials were inaugurating a book exhibition at the university.
According to sources, six people were wounded.
Many students left the compound sharply after they were informed about the gunmen, a student said.
Police said security forces were deployed to the attack scene.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.

Sources said at least 25 people were killed and over 40 more were wounded in Kabul University attack.
Officials have not commented on the casualties.
