Top GxOP pollster blasts Trump at British company gathering, calls his campaign the worst ever

ERIE, PA - OCTOBER 20: Supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump chant

US President Donald Trumps campaign is "the worst campaign Ive ever seen," says a top GOP pollster, asserting that his advisers should be "brought up on charges of political malpractice."

"Ive never seen a campaign more mis-calibrated than the Trump campaign. Frankly, his staff ought to be brought up on charges of political malpractice," said prominent Republican pollster Frank Luntz at a briefing for the British strategic advising company Global Counsel on Tuesday. "Ive never seen a campaign more mis-calibrated than the Trump campaign. Frankly, his staff ought to be brought up on charges of political malpractice."

The Trump administration has come under unprecedented pressure over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions for the economy, while his campaign is mostly focused on finding dirt on his political opponent, Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

"It is the worst campaign Ive ever seen and Ive been watching them since 1980. Theyre on the wrong issues. Theyre on the wrong message. Theyve got their heads up their a**ess. ... Your damn job is to get your candidate to talk about things that are relevant to the people you need to reach. And if you cant do your damn job then get out."

As the November 3 race approaches, Trump has been calling for an investigation into Bidens son, Hunter.

"Nobody cares about Hunter Biden ... why is [Trump] spending all his time on him?" Luntz asked. "Hunter Biden does not help put food on the table. Hunter Biden does not help anyone get a job. Hunter Biden does not provide health care or solve Covid. And Donald Trump spends all of his time focused on that and nobody cares."

Luntz, who used to work for former House speaker Newt Gingrich, further suggested that Trump would lose the race if he continues with the policy.

"If Donald Trump doesnt score a knockout then theres not enough campaigning or mindshare to give him a chance to catch Joe Biden," he said.

According to an average of the national polls, the Democratic nominee enjoys support from over 51 percent of the voters while Trump is backed by less than 43 percent.
