Hundreds of the residents of northern Balkh and southern Helmand province of Afghanistan on Saturday demonstrated against the Pakistani military’s shelling which left an Afghan border police service member martyred.
The protesters condemned the act by Pakistani forces for building military installations along the Durand Line and within the zero-point.
They also accused Pakistan for being directly involved in Afghanistan’s instability and called on Afghan government to take necessary actions for Pakistani military’s cross-border incursion.
In the meantime, the residents of southern Helmand province called on Afghan government for the reprisal of Pakistani military’s attack in Maruf district of southern Kandahar province.
The government of Afghanistan on Thursday also accused Pakistan for violating a trilateral agreement by attempting to set up military installations along the Durand Line which resulted into clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces.
Interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said the Pakistani security forces were looking to dig ditches in a bid to set up bunkers within the zero-point area which is a clear violation of the trilateral agreement between Afghanistan-Pakistan and NATO.
Based on the trilateral agreement, setting up military installations within four kilometer of the zero-point is prohibited, interior ministry said, adding that the Pakistani forces were looking to act against the agreement during the past few days.
