The governments slogan is not "stay at home" anymore but "stay alert". Boris Johnson has explained how Britains lockdown measures have been modified.
Some of the changes took effect almost immediately. People are now allowed to take unlimited exercise and drive to other destinations and play sports, again with members of their own household, and many people can go back to work.
But immediately after the address the Leader of the opposition Labour party Keir Starmer voiced everyones fears.
Other ministers followed suit and for her part, Scotlands First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the new coronavirus messaging was not for Scotland.
Unions are demanding guidelines on how to create a safe environment for workers. Figures released by the Office of National Statistics show taxi drivers, construction workers and male security guards are more likely to die from covid-19. And sadly more bus drivers have died of the virus than NHS workers. For the vast majority who have been following government guidelines to the letter, it feels as if the government is now passing the buck, expecting them to figure out how to return to work safely.
