The former Pakistani cricket captain Aamer Sohail has joined the Afghanistan cricket team as short time batting coach.
The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) said Wednesday that Aamer Sohail will join the Afghan cricketers in a training camp in Pakistan.
ACB officials said the training camp in Pakistan has been arranged for the Afghan cricketers to prepare for ACC Premier League.
Aamer Sohail is a former professional Pakistani cricketer who has played 156 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 47 Test matches.
Sohail will assist the Afghan batsmen to improve their performance.
The Afghan Cricket Board Chief Executive, Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad said Aamer Sohail is an experienced former Pakistani cricketer and he has been appointed on shot time basis to improve the batting line of the Afghan team.
Mr. Murad further added that negotiations have been made to appoint another coach for the Afghan team, however no final decision has been taken so far due to security issues.
