Representatives of the election campaign teams and other groups attended a meeting organized by the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) to resolve the electoral crisis, but the event ended on a similar note as the Independent Election Commission�s (IEC) session last week.

Addressing the event, the IECC chairperson Zohra Bayan Shinwari called on the IEC to announce the preliminary poll results "as soon as possible."

She said the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission has so far addressed over 4,500 complaints.

But the IEC chairperson Hawa Alam Nuristani said the IEC�s "task has been completed," and that their "red line" is biometric-registered votes.

She called on protesting candidates to allow the recount of votes in seven provinces.

Those who spoke on behalf of Abdullah Abdullah�s Stability and Convergence team criticized the IEC and the IECC for not addressing their concerns regarding the disputed votes.

Assadullah Sa�adati, Abdullah�s running mate, said at the event that they have concerns over five points regarding the disputed votes.

He said the concerns should be addressed first and then the preliminary results should be announced.

The session broke into chaos at two points when the IEC chairperson left the meeting, but then walked back in and apologized for leaving.

Mohammad Umer Daudzai, a member of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani�s campaign team, said it is time to announce the results.

"The technical work is done--what�s holding the results is politics," he said.

Presidential candidate Mohammad Hakim Torsan called for revealing the names of those who have committed fraud in the elections which were held on September 28.
