Afghan special forces have killed 22 Daesh fighters including three commanders of the group during an operation in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province, the provincial intelligence agency said.
According to a statement released by Nangarhar Intelligence Directorate on Tuesday, four centers of the Daesh fighters were also destroyed during the operation.
Provincial governors spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told that the operation was launched in Zawa area of Khogyani district since the last 24 hours.
Khogyani further said that two suspects were also arrested in allegation of having links with the Daesh group.
He added that no casualties have been inflicted to the Afghan special forces and civilians during the operation.
The Daesh group also known as the Islamic State has not made a comment about the report yet.
Nangarhar is among the insecure provinces in eastern Afghanistan where the Taliban and Daesh fighters have a presence in a number of its districts.
