Looking over the Spanish La Liga, Valencia have defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in a game where corner kicks were decisive.
Valencia broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, when Dani Parejo’s corner kick was met by a poor clearance from Keylor Navas, and Goncalo Guedes capitalized on the rebound to ripple the net.
Valencia’s 2nd goal came in the 83rd minute, this time directly on a corner kick, thanks to Ezequiel Garay, who grabbed a 2-goal cushion for Valencia.
The referee was about to blow the whistle when Luka Modric picked out Karim Benzema, again on a corner kick, and the unmarked Frenchman scored a consolation. The result leaves Madrid 5 points behind 2nd placed Atletico, but 10-points ahead of Khetafe.
