Pakistani PM and US CENTCOM Chief discuss Afghanistan

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday met with the U.S. CENTCOM Chief General Kenneth McKenzie Jr in Islamabad.

According to a statement released by Prime Minister House of Pakistan, the two sides held talks regarding ongoing efforts to end the conflict in Afghanistan.

The statement further added that PM Khan expressed his "long standing commitment to peace and stability in Afghanistan through a political settlement".

He emphasised the importance of "an intra-Afghan dialogue so that all stakeholders can form a policy for Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the US forces," the statement added.

The statement also added that PM KHan reiterated Pakistan’s desire for "good neighbourly relations" with Kabul.
