NATO commander discussed Ghazni security with the provincial officials

The commander of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission Gen. Scott Miller met with the governor of southeastern Ghazni province and security officials of the province to hold talks regarding the security of the province.

According to the provincial government office, Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai shared information regarding the current security situation of Ghazni with Gen. Miller along with information regarding the security challenges, capabilities and needs of the Afghan forces, security pressures and threats.

Kalimzai further added that immediate steps are required to respond to the needs of the armed forces and additional Special Forces must be deployed to eliminate the security threats.

A statement released by the provincial government media office stated that the provincial security officials also participated in the second meeting and each shared information, recommendations, and demands in dealing with security situation and eliminating the existing security threats.

In his turn, Gen. Miller assured that Ghazni remains a top priority for the government and NATO forces.

Gen. Miller further added that NATO remains committed to help with requirements of the Afghanistanian forces and will continue to stand with the Afghanistanian forces stationed in this province.

The statement by provincial government also added that Gen. Miller hailed the Afghanistanian forces for the fight against terrorism and suppressing scores of attacks with minimal capabilities.

Gen. Miller further added that NATO stands strong in its commitments to stand with the Afghanistanian national defense and security forces.
