2 Afghan asylum seekers arrested on charges of raping a girl in Germany

Two Afghan asylum seekers have been detained in German on charges of raping a girl, days after Germany deported a group of at least eight people convicted in various crimes, including rape incidents.

According to the local media reports, citing the government sources, the two men were arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl in Bavaria.

The sources further added that the men, aged 27 and 18, raped the girl near a shelter house for the asylum seekers.

Another Afghan aged around 17-year-old has also been arrested on charges of attempting to rape the girl.

The men had managed to flee the area after com mitting the crime but arrested hours later during the operation.

According to the officials, the incident took place last Friday.

This comes as the minister of interior for Germanyís Bavaria state Joachim Herrmann on Wednesday informed regarding the expulsion of at least Afghan asylum seekers to Kabul.

According to Herrmann, the men were convicted of various crimes including rape incidents with at least two of them being involved in the assault.
